About the Athenian Dancers

The Athenian Dancers are the top performing group from the Athena Studio of World Dance.  Formed in 2003 under the Direction of Ashiya and Naajidah, they have performed in various venues thorough out the Midwest.  From ethnic festivals, to workshops, to restaurants and nightclubs, they have entertained with their wide variety of styles, costuming and music.  In 2008 they were invited to perform at The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska as part of their Free at Six series.  Some of their specialties include veil, sword, cane, candle, Wings of Isis, Pharonic, Gypsy and Folkloric, as well as Greek Cabaret.  They bring to all of their performances not only their love of the dance and the joy of performing, but grace, tastefulness, and professionalism
